Mission/Outreach

Bethel is a small church with an average attendance of  36 - 38 each Sunday, but we are committed to continue to reach out into our community to share Christ's Love.  See, a small church can do big things in Christ's name.

BETHEL BREAKFAST MINISTRY AT TRIUNE
A three and half year old ministry that feeds a full breakfast to the homeless and needy in Greenville every Monday morning from 7am - 8:30am.  As of August 2018 we have served 13,323 people.

GENERATIONS GROUP HOME FOR BOYS
Bethel has supported this mission for almost 20 years.  The residential home is a treatment facility for boys that have been sexually and physically abused.  They have acted out the abuse on others and most come from prison.  The facility has a 98% success rate of cure. We provide birthday cards and money for each boy, volunteer at parties, celebration meals, provide Christmas stockings full of presents, and collect paper products each month for the facility.  Our main objective is to show these boys that God loves them as do the members of our church.

GOLDEN STRIP RESOURCE CENTER
This a one-stop resource center for the needy in lower Greenville and Upper Laurens Counties.  They provide food, medical help, child care, job placement, and many other important needs for the community.  Bethel supports Golden Strip Resource Center by providing a grocery cart of food collected each month by our congregation.

BETHEL MISSION BUDGET FOR LOCAL CHARITIES
Through our $3600 mission budget we provide funds for 15 worthy charities such as Meals on Wheels, Safe Harbor, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Project Host, and American Red Cross.

CLOTHING COLLECTION
Bethel collects used clothes for the needy for James Monroe Outreach at Trinity UMC in Fountain Inn.

BACK PACK MINISTRY
Bethel supports the Back Pack Ministry, which provides food and snacks for needy school children to take home for the weekend that provides them nourishment when not in school.  We provide snacks and collect plastic grocery bags to pack the items in.

SALKEHATCHIE CAMPS
Since 2006 Bethel has sent volunteers to Salkehatchie Camps during the summer.  Salkehatchie is a 40 year old SC United Methodist mission that provides adults and youth 14 - 18 years old for an opportunity to serve others by repairing homes for the needy during a week long mission.

GIRL SCOUTS
Bethel provides meeting space and support for four Girl Scout Troops.
